Healthy Family Friendly Meals

These are easy meal ideas your whole family will love. Find lightened up versions of classic kid foods, like chicken fingers and mac and cheese, kid-friendly soups and salads, and dinners that make it easy to pack in the vegetables.

Every year in January it seems like it would be a good idea to make an effort to cook healthier meals for the family, right? Of course, finding and planning healthy meals can take a lot of effort, and if your kids are picky about what they’ll eat it hardly seems worth it to try. But, try we will, because we’re moms and that’s what we do (and it seems like a bad idea to order pizza every day until the kids are all 18). So today you’ll find 25 healthy meal ideas for kids: easy dishes you can make that they will actually like.

Healthy

Many children refuse to eat certain vegetables, will not touch a green smoothie and aren’t thrilled with food that is all mixed together, like pastas and casseroles.

I am not an expert by any means when it comes advice on this type of thing but I can offer a little help as far as providing you guys with 32 Healthy Kid Friendly Recipes that I think will excite your kids. Not only will some of these excite your kids, they might just excite the adults too. Many of these recipes include vegetables and fruit in them and the kids won’t even notice, making them a great choice for meals.

When it comes to vegetables in my house I include both raw and cooked or steamed vegetables on my children’s plate for both lunch and dinner. I don’t care if they don’t eat all of the vegetables on their plate, but I make sure they see them and have the opportunity to try them. They say that for some kids it takes seeing a food ten times before they will try it.

My son Will can be a picky eater and I have found this with him. If I put a new food on his plate it usually takes 8-10 times of seeing it before he will give it a try. I am happy to report that as he gets older, he has gotten better about trying new foods. So for those of you who have a picky eater at home there is hope. Keep trying new foods and making healthy, veggie centric recipes to encourage
